But I have a vid here, in my possession, and I know all the details most people usually need to find for a vid also in my possession, but I'm still looking for the vid.

How is this possible?

It's called I've found a low-res copy of the vid on YouTube, but as of yet nowhere else. This could mean the higher-resolution versions are off somewhere under f-lock where Google cannot find it, or something similar, and therefore it's possibly circulated elsewhere and under channels I, being a fairly oblivious vid-watcher, do not know to follow.

But all the info I have about the vid and the vidder, as well as a link to the YouTube version, is as follows.

Title: Open Your Heart
Source: EUREKA SEVEN (anime)
Editor: Kakuo/Kakuo7
Song: Yuji Kajiura and the Stripes, "Open Your Heart"
[YouTube link]

I realize this is an odd request, and I also am fully aware nobody's probably going to want to help me. But I trust TFV when she says that this is a place to go for vidfinding help and I am willing to try things if she says they are good (which is probably not always the best attitude to have. really. there were dog suits), so . . . any help at all is appreciated.

I really, really love this video to the point of constant rewatching, but I am getting rather sick of being able to only watch it on YouTube. I'm also terrified it'll suddenly be deleted and I'll never be able to watch it again.

EDIT: Uhm. I have no idea what tags to use as I'm not even sure what tags this would even qualify for. A little help here, plz.

EDIT OF WIN:
With great thanks to [livejournal.com profile] taverymate, who pointed me towards Kakuo's AMV.Org profile, which hadn't been there last I went through, I sent Kakuo a Private Message asking for a copy of the vid.

The result: "Open Your Heart" is now up on AMV.Org! (With a low, low filesize of only 40 MB, but that doesn't bother me.) Thanks for everyone's help.

I think it's always a very good idea to list all possible pseudonyms for search purposes; plus, vidders - like fan fiction authors - often change their handles and someone may know the vidder under a name that isn't currently being used, but can still point you in the right direction to find the vidder and vid.

Do hope that the download capture works for you. I loathe, and despise it when a vid is only available on YouTube, so you have my deepest sympathies.

And VLC is the vid watcher's best friend ever! I love the VLC player with a passion and rec it incessently to people. It's user friendly (no extra codec downloads!), it will play virtually every format you can name (except Real Media) - many better than the original specific format players, it handles DVD files, it's regularly updated, it's a small download, it installs without fuss, and it's FREE! What's not to love?

I'm on dial-up so trying to watch streamings vids, like on YouTube, is simply not an option with my connection. Besides, I want to download vids so I can rewatch them and have them even if they disappear from the net. So seeing vidders put their vids up only on YouTube is something that makes me nuts.

No, the VLC player doesn't require any extra codec downloads - everything is included in the player download. No more trying to figure out what codec might be missing from the player, and where to find it, or having odd codec installations screw up your OS. The VLC player is a thing of beauty. As new codecs (audio and video) are developed and adopted by vidders, the VLC developers incorporate them into the player. And I love that the VLC is collaborative, open-source player.
